Bedford Biofuels is now a proud member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a humanitarian and environmentally focused global movement started by former US president Bill Clinton.

The fifth-annual CGI meeting, held Sept. 22 – 25 in New York City, offered an opportunity for Bedford to connect with organizations and individuals in order to better commit to its humanitarian and environmental goals and potentially help others reach theirs.

President Clinton created CGI stating, “We each have an unprecedented opportunity to take action and save lives. Working together we can accomplish even more.”

The conference was “eye opening” for Dustin Mitchell, Bedford’s VP Sales and Marketing, who attended the event on behalf of Bedford.

“It was a great compliment to be invited to such a high-caliber global event, which – to a certain degree – reflects the core values of our business model,” says Mitchell.

“The CGI was an opportunity to forge good relationships with other organizations with similar goals and aspirations towards poverty alleviation.”

Bedford’s membership with CGI began with the 2009 conference, which focused on harnessing innovation for development, strengthening infrastructure, building human capital, and financing an equitable future.

David McClure, president and CEO of Bedford Biofuels says, “Being a part of the Clinton Global Initiative will keep us accountable to our humanitarian commitments in Africa. It’s an incredible opportunity to network with other like-minded companies and individuals to make a difference in the world.”
